- Reference Data
Cholestest®NHDL is a liquid reagent for the measurement of HDL-cholesterol by direct method, using differences in specificities of detergent to lipoprotein. Because the reagent doesn't include polyanions or magnesium salts, it allows accurate measurement of samples with rich globulin or rich TG. The reagent forms no insoluble precipitates upon addition of an alkaline washing solution, so it will impose no loads on instrument.
Features

- Includes no flocculants or divalent metal ions
- Allow accurate measurement of samples with rich globulin or rich triglyceride
- Free of the influence of bilirubin
- Doesn't contaminate instrument
Measurement Principle

- Reaction 1
- The reaction accelerator allows free cholesterol on the surface of LDL or VLDL to react with the enzyme.
H2O2 produced in the reaction is eliminated by peroxidase, thus no color dye occurs.
- Reaction 2
- The special detergent causes only HDL to be solved to allow reaction of HDL-cholesterol and the enzyme.
H2O2 produced in the reaction condenses 4-amino antipyrine and DSBmT to produce color compound in the presence of peroxidase.
