Our Efforts for the Environment and Quality

Environmental Protection

We aim at becoming an "environment creation company" that grows in a sustainable way with our central focus on the "environment."
To achieve this goal,
1) Each of us conducts environmentally friendly activities during work.
2) Each of us makes environmentally friendly efforts at home and in local societies.

Iwate Plant

The Iwate Plant is a naturally beautiful park-like plant surrounded by greenery, with the view of the mountains of the Towada-Hachimantai National Park. The plant manufactures mainly raw materials for pharmaceutical products. It operates an environmentally friendly wastewater treatment system (an anaerobic fermentative treatment system and an activated sludge treatment system) to live in harmony with its invaluable natural environment. In February, 2001, the Iwate Plant obtained an ISO14001 environmental management system certificate (assessment and registration). The plant conducts environmental protection activities.

Amagasaki Plant

The Amagasaki Plant, located in Amagasaki-shi, Hyogo, manufactures transdermal patch pharmaceuticals, and this plant is an environmentally friendly facility.
We conduct environmental conservation activities named "Zero Emission Activity" to recycling all the waste from our daily manufacturing.
To reduce the energy consumption and carbon emissions for ecology movement, we continue to progress our environmental practices.

Tsukuba Plant

The Tsukuba Plant, located in the Tsukuba-no-sato Industrial Park, Ryugasaki-shi, Ibaraki Prefecture, manufactures in vitro pharmaceutical products and laboratory reagents. The plant makes environmentally friendly efforts, such as saving resource saving by promoting simpler packaging of products and reducing the amounts of waste materials generated in the plant.

Pharmacokinetics Laboratory

The Pharmacokinetics Laboratory, located in Tokai-mura, Ibaraki Prefecture, carries out metabolism tests or other tests of new drugs requested by their manufacturers. We strictly manage radioactive materials used for tests, reduce the amounts of waste materials, and save resources and energy.

CS Quality Management

Focusing our business mainly on "CS Quality," we carefully look for product quality innovations in every business activity to always provide products and services that meet customer needs, with the expectation that customers will continue to select us. We aim at our continued development and growth in the long term.

Diagnostics Business

Acting in unison, the Tsukuba Plant and associated sectors, such as the sales sector, R & D sector, resources sector and distribution sector, obtained an ISO9001 quality management system certificate (assessment and registration) in March, 2004. In March, 2005, we also obtained an "ISO13485" certificate (year 2003 edition), an international standard for quality management system for medical devices, including in vitro diagnostic products. This certificate, which is intended for medical devices, requires compliance with laws and regulations, and the operation of manufacturing hygiene control systems and risk management. It has been introduced in many countries, such as European countries, Canada and Australia. Some of the requirements are the same as those of the laws and regulations of the U.S.A.
Our overseas business partners are also ISO13485-certified.
