"At the Sekisui Medicial Co. Ltd. (SMD), Research Institute, I am working on the chimeric mouse model which was famously developed in Japan. My current research looks at the human and mouse gene expression of key drug metabolizing enzymes in chimeric mouse liver using human and mouse microarray technology (Toxicogenomics). SMD have given me great opportunities to develop my research career and work on cutting edge research. Working for a leading pharmaceutical company in Japan has been both culturally and scientifically, an excellent experience."

"The first thing that I noticed after arriving in Japan was how friendly Japanese people are, but this is especially true with regard to Sekisui Medical. The people here are so friendly and really cannot do enough for you. Nothing ever seems to be an inconvenience. While life in Tokai is very different to Tokyo, Tokai's close proximity to Tokyo offers a unique chance to see two very different, but equally interesting, sides of Japanese culture. Most importantly, working for an ambitious pharmaceutical company provides a great opportunity to conduct research, while also gaining valuable international experience."
