Introduction of amino acid synthesis technology

We start with a precursor and then synthesize DL-amino acids via a hydantoin intermediate, for example. We have established a method to obtain L-amino acids or D-amino acids by carrying out optical resolution, either enzymically or chemically, of the DL-amino acids initially obtained. Using various chemical compounds as the precursor makes it possible to synthesize special amino acids that do not occur naturally.
We process the amino acids that we have thus obtained to manufacture various derivatives via such processes as the synthesis of protected amino acids and α-amino carbon acid amides, halogenation, and reductive reaction.
