SEKISUI MEDICAL's business is expanding across four main businesses
Diagnostics, Pharmaceuticals & Fine Chemicals, Drug Development Support, and Enzymes.

Diagnostics
The core of our business. focused on developing, manufacturing, and marketing in-vitro diagnostics, for use in the diagnosis of a wide range of conditions such as cardiovascular, diabetes, influenza and strep.

Pharmaceutical Sciences
We produce active pharmaceutical ingredients and pharmaceutical intermediates, amino acids, as well as a wide range of enzymes for use in diagnostics, biopharmaceutical manufacturing and more.

Drug Development Solutions
We comprehensively support drug development for pharmaceutical companies and academia through deep expertise and advanced technological capabilities.

Enzymes
We leverage more than 40 years of technical skills and experience to mass produce recombinant proteins and various enzymes in the UK.

Introducing Sekisui Medical's facilities in Japan.
Tokyo Head Office
Sekisui Medical's head office is located in Nihonbashi, Chuo-ku, Tokyo.
At the head office, we are in charge of indirect operations that support the HQ function and business operations of each business.
It is easily accessible from Tokyo Station and Nihonbashi Station, at the heart of Tokyo's business district.

Tokyo Head Office
We moved to our current head office building when it was newly constructed in 2017. It is a well-lit, spacious and modern workplace.

Open Meeting Area
This area is an open space where you can hold impromptu or casual meetings as they come up.

There is a cafeteria on each floor, where you can enjoy lunch with your friends or to relax and refresh when you need a break.

Tsukuba(Ryugasaki/Ami) Area
TSUKUBA/AMI AREA
Tsukuba Plant/Research Institute (Ryugasaki) / Ami Office | TSUKUBA / AMI AREA In the Tsukuba area facilities in Ryugasaki and Ami, develop and produce a wide variety of diagnostic reagents mainly in the fields of blood coagulation, lifestyle-related diseases, and infectious diseases; to be used in conjunction with our plastic vacuum blood collection tubes indispensable for clinical tests, and fully automatic blood coagulation analyzers. We are also develop manufacturing technology specializing based on our special peptide synthesis technology.

A company bus runs from the nearest station to the office. Many employees also commute by car.

Tokai Area
Drug Development Solutions Center | TOKAI AREA
Tokai Village, Ibaraki Prefecture is home to our Drug Development Solutions Center. At this facility we undertake a wide range of non-clinical and clinical trials using radioisotope (RI) -labeled compounds supporting drug development at each stage from initial exploration to application and post-marketing monitoring.

Drug Discovery Solutions Center
We own and operate one of the largest RI (radioisotope) handling facilities in Japan, based in this center.

There are about 130 people working here, and we are proud of our friendly team oriented culture and atmosphere.

With two daily set menus and a choice of noodles or a rice bowl, you can use this restaurant every day and never get bored of the delicious food.

Iwate Area
Iwate Plant | IWATE AREA
The Iwate Plant is located in Hachimantai City, Iwate Prefecture, and consists of a vast site surrounded by, and operated with respect for nature. Operations began in 1979 manufacturing APIs, intermediates, and amino acids for pharmaceuticals. Through experience garnered through inspections and audits by international regulatory bodies such as the American FDA and the European Pharmaceutical Quality Division (EDQM), and domestic and overseas pharmaceutical companies, we strive to maintain and improve GMP systems to the highest standards on a daily basis.

Chosha Yashiki
The Chosha Yashiki, one of the 20 best waters in Iwate, is located nearby, and a waterway connects to the Iwate Factory.

New Developments
An additional new site development is currently under construction. The specifications aim to improve quality and reliability by preventing cross-contamination and ease containment of hazardous substances.

SALES and CUSTOMER SUPPORT CENTER
Sales/Customer Support Center
Our Domestic Sales Division operates 13 sales offices nationwide, with DMRs catering to clients needs and facilitating information flow in each region. In addition to four sales offices in the Tokyo metropolitan area, a customer support center showroom is also located in Ariake, Koto-ku, Tokyo.
